This video was October 2 during our fall vacation in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia over. Somehow the name "Shenandoah" just has a nice sound, it is not surprising, since it is "beautiful daughter of the stars" means. We were in an apartment in Massanutten, a ski resort and has a series of day trips. Our first trip took us to Harrisonburg, a historic town of Virginia, 15 minutes west of Massanutten. I started by interviewing the travel expert at the Harrisonburg Tourism Office and thengoing on a little tour of the city. The city has many historic homes, and one of the most impressive buildings is the court house whose roof is topped by a statue of the goddess of justice. After a good lunch at an outdoor cafe we continued our exploration and headed south on a country road. Rolling farmland and lots of happy grazing cows surrounded us on this quiet unit. About an hour after we arrived in Staunton, a picturesque city of about 28,000 people inSouthern Shenandoah Valley. Staunton has a beautiful main street (West Beverley Street) with many well-preserved historical buildings in various architectural styles. The most beautiful, the Masonic Building, reminiscent of a European medieval structure. Although Staunton goes back to 1747, the town reached its peak between 1880 and 1920, so the majority of Victorian architecture.
